What's involved?

As a member of the Zoo Team, you will have the opportunity to work with many different kinds of animals in a mostly minimum contact setting (until you meet the Giraffes, of course!).

On Zoo Team at the Safari Park, you will mostly work with the Monkeys and other animals at the Rescue Retreat, the Elephants, and the animals on the Safari zone such as the Giraffe, Zebra, Ostrich, Emu, Flamingo and more. On Zoo Team you will also be responsible for our small Petting Zoo, where you will get to work with our mini donkey and horse, friendly pigs, goats and rabbits, plenty of deer and even 2 racoons and our resident fox!

Pick Zoo Team if you want to work with a wide variety of animals.

Working on the Zoo Team requires you to be physically fit, but don’t be afraid to take a break when you need one! On Zoo Team it is also good if you have basic building skills, as volunteers build everything for the animal’s enclosures and these structures constantly need updating, repairing and changing.

On Zoo Team it is possible to allocate specific projects should you wish. If you are staying long-term (2 weeks plus) and you decide that you want to work more with the Elephants then you can. If you decide that you want to completely renovate a particular monkey’s cage then you can.

There are no pre-requisites to working on Zoo Team as our dedicated volunteers can teach you everything you need to know once you arrive.
